Beffer / ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT
The buying journey needs more than an inbox.
Beffer is a procurement and quote-to-order platform for businesses buying goods and services, and the suppliers responding to them. I’m building it to keep requirements, supplier conversations, quotations and decisions connected as the work moves forward.
My role / Commercial design · product · engineering
One connected buying journey. Built founder-led in around eight months.
What the platform is built around
- 01
Understand the need
Start with what the buyer knows and identify what still needs answering.
- 02
Work with suppliers
Keep the brief, questions and supplier responses in the same commercial context.
- 03
Make a considered decision
Bring quotations, assumptions and revisions together for human review.
- 04
Carry the detail forward
Build the route from an agreed quote into ordering and fulfilment.
Problem
A business enquiry is rarely a neat form submission. Requirements are incomplete, suppliers need context, quotes change and important decisions disappear into disconnected messages.
Insight
The missing piece is continuity: the requirement, the supplier’s response and the decision need to stay together.
Build
I designed the platform around enquiry intake, requirements, suppliers, conversations and reviewed quotations. The wider build connects these with orders, payments and fulfilment, with a clear record of decisions and responsibility.
See the work.
The customer entry points below are the start of a wider supplier and quotation journey.

Start with what the customer knows.
The buyer can start before they have a perfect specification. A review step helps them check the brief before it enters the supplier conversation.
A practical starting point
The brief starts with the information a buyer already has.
A considered next step
Review the requirement before moving into the supplier conversation.

Keep the pack with the enquiry.
A tender pack belongs with its brief and deadline. Documents enter an operator review step before anything is sent to suppliers.
Keep the context together
The document, deadline and requirement belong to the same enquiry.
Review before outreach
An operator reviews the pack before it is sent to suppliers.
One commercial journey. Connected context.
- 01Enquiry and requirements
- 02Supplier context and RFQ
- 03Quote and human review
- 04Order and fulfilment scope
The platform’s operating model. Quotations remain human-reviewed; downstream capabilities are still in development.
Less capital. Less elapsed time.

How the comparison works
Cost is indexed to 100 for the conventional model, including a meaningful allowance for Founder time in the Founder-led proxy. Around 91.8% lower cost and 47% shorter elapsed time at the model midpoints. Illustrative comparison, not audited accounting or a valuation.
Facts, context and comparison basis
Founder-led software development around the commercial journey from enquiry and requirements to suppliers, quotations and fulfilment.
Describes build scope. Individual capabilities require runtime acceptance before being presented as operational.Beffer demonstrates capital-efficient execution: a Founder-led build over approximately eight months versus an indicative 12–18 month conventional delivery model. That is around 33%–56% shorter elapsed time, or roughly half the time at the midpoint.
Indicative conventional multi-person senior-team model, not a measured like-for-like delivery trial. The build-cost comparison includes a notional cost for Founder time.Around 90% lower illustrative build cost than the indicative conventional multi-person senior-team delivery model, including a notional cost for Founder time.

What came out of it
Around eight months of founder-led development produced a substantial procurement and quote-to-order platform. The capital-efficiency comparison includes an allowance for my time; development continues.
What I took from it
Build the whole journey. The strongest systems carry the information, responsibility and next action forward, so people can work with confidence.
Where it stands
ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT
Active development. Enquiry, supplier and quotation workflows are the focus; payment and fulfilment capabilities are being developed and tested separately. Quotations remain human-reviewed.
