UK manufacturing / IN DEVELOPMENT
The order is where the real work starts.
A manufacturing workflow connecting what the customer buys with the artwork, proofs, decisions and staff responsibilities needed to produce it. The aim is less chasing between systems and a clearer next step for everyone involved.
My role / Client work · workflow design · software
Ecommerce, artwork, proof and production designed as one connected workflow.
Follow the work through the business
- 01
Customer and order
Keep the customer’s requirements attached to the work.
- 02
Artwork and versions
Make the current file clear without losing the history.
- 03
Proof and decision
Give the customer an explicit approval step.
- 04
Production
Keep payment, customer approval and production release as distinct decisions.
Problem
In print and manufacturing, an order is only the beginning. Artwork, proofs, customer decisions and staff responsibilities must stay connected.
Insight
The system needs to reflect how work moves between people, with important approvals kept explicit.
Build
I’m connecting the customer journey, quotes and orders with artwork, proofs and staff workflows. Customer decisions, payment and production release stay explicit as the system develops.
See the work.
The operating sequence behind the story.
One order. A clear chain of responsibility.
- 01 / CUSTOMER
Requirement → order
Keep what the customer needs attached to the work.
- 02 / STUDIO
Artwork → version → proof
Make the current file clear and retain the history behind it.
- 03 / DECISION
Customer approval + payment status
Keep these separate and explicit before production release.
- 04 / OPERATIONS
Ready for the next step
Give staff a clear view of the decision and responsibility at each hand-off.
An explanatory map of the work being developed, with client and customer details kept private.
Facts, context and comparison basis
Client development work spanning customer journeys, quotes and orders, artwork and proof, and role-based operations.
Anonymised client case. Scope of work, not a claim of accepted production integration or measured commercial benefit. My account of the work / September 2026
What came out of it
A connected workflow under development across ecommerce, artwork, proofs and operations. The design makes each hand-off and decision explicit; measured outcomes will follow.
What I took from it
Good automation makes responsibility clear and gives people confidence in the next step. Important approvals stay explicit.
Where it stands
IN DEVELOPMENT
In development. The client is unnamed and the workflow is shown without customer information. Commercial results will be added when measured and approved.
